Course Objectives
This course is designed form managers and supervisors who need to manage safely and effectively. The course equips delegates with the knowledge and skills required to:
• Apply effective management practices to health and safety issues
• Set practicable objectives and monitor progress
• Recognise hazards and identify control measures
• Understand behavioural factors affecting performance
• Ensure that adequate training and supervision is provided for all employees
• Investigate incidents and take appropriate remedial action
• Communicate effectively on health and safety issues
• Understand legal responsibilities and how to comply
IOSH Managing Safely Course Content
Generally the course covers:
• Health and Safety Law
• Recognition and Control or Workplace Hazards
• Human factors and safety performance
• Effective communication
Who should attend
Any managers or supervisors required to manage safely and effectively in order to comply with statutory requirements, organisations policy and industry best practice.
Assessment
The course will be run by tutors from SSG Training and Consultancy. At the end of the course there will be a written multi-choice paper and a practical assessment involving a short work related project. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a recognised qualification for managers and supervisors.
