The Food and Drugs (Food Hygiene) (Amendment) Order 2007 has placed a greater onus and accountability on anyone in the food business with supervisory responsibility. It is therefore vital they are equipped with both the knowledge and confidence to do their job effectively.
New Levels
In response to the requirements of the Sector Skills Council and the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), the CIEH have launched new sector specific awards in food safety which will replace the CIEH Intermediate in Food Safety.
Level 3 Award in Food Safety course content
The qualification covers the following topics:
• Legislation
• Supervisory Management
• Temperature control (chilling, cooking)
• Cleaning
• Contamination and control
• Applying and monitoring good hygiene practices
• Implementing good food safety procedures
• Contributing to the safety training of others
Who should attend
This course is designed for Managers and supervisors in medium to large manufacturing or catering businesses.
Assessment
Multiple choice examination
Dates:
June 1st, 8th & 15th (full days) June 29th (Revision) and 6th July (Exam)
or
October 4th, 11th & 18th (full days) October 25th (Revision) and November 1st (Exam)
Duration: 3 days & 1/2 day for revision and 1/2 day for examination.
Maximum Trainees: 12
Cost: £350 per person
