Health and Safety Law and the HSE ACOP'S Rider operated lift trucks - operator training, require that formal training in the safe operation of forklift truck operators is provided by the employer.
Training Course Objectives
This course is designed to meet the basic training elements defined in the ACOP for industrial counter balance lift trucks. The course does not include specific job training and familiarisation training as required in the ACOP.
Forklift Truck (counter balance) Course Content
Generally the course covers
• Operators responsibilities
• Current legislation including LOLER
• Fork truck safety policies
• Operational safety code
• Daily safety checks
• Vehicle sympathy
• Refuelling/recharging
• Basic hydraulic system
• Practice manoeuvring and stacking
• Load safety requirements
Who should attend
This course is designed for Managers, Operatives and Safety Reps.
Assessment
The course will be run by a RTITB approved trainer. On completion of training successful candidates will be awarded a certificate of training.

Duration: 1-5 days (dependent on experience of operatives)
Maximum Trainees: 3
Cost: £450.00 per day
Note: Training for other types of lift truck is also available through Normandie Health & Safety Ltd. Telescopic Handler, etc.
